School children from Our Lady Catholic Primary School

SNG and Welwyn primary school unite to transform construction site into art showcase

Creative pupils from Our Lady Catholic Primary School in Welwyn Garden City will soon be able to see their talented artwork displayed on the hoarding of an SNG development. The Year 2 students took part in a community engagement project which will see their paintings reflecting nature and artwork feature on the hoarding design.

The hoarding will surround the 111 affordable homes we’re delivering on a former brownfield site at Bridge Road East in the Hertfordshire town. The scheme sees one and two-bedroom apartments delivered with 18 homes for Social Rent, 37 for Affordable Rent and 56 for Shared Ownership (being marketed as Bloom) with funding from Homes England. The apartments are being built using offsite construction methods.

The first customers should hopefully move into their new homes in 2025.

Kalumba Musambachime, SNG’s Head of Sales and Build to Rent (London and East) commented: " We believe in building more than just homes and are committed to fostering a sense of community. By incorporating the creativity of local children into our development site, we are celebrating the community’s spirit and future.”
